The Rainbow Water and Fire District is served by a five-member Board of Commissioners, elected from residents of the district. The Board of Commissioners appoints an additional five members to serve with the Board as the Budget Committee.

Rainbow Board Meetings

The Rainbow Water District Board of Commissioners regularly meets at the Rainbow Offices, 1550 N. 42nd Street, Springfield, at 5:30 pm on the second Wednesday of every month. The Budget Committee meets during the months of April and May. The district operates under a fiscal year of July 1 to June 30, with financial statements audited annually.

Our Staff

Jamie Porter was hired by the Board of Commissioners as Rainbow's Superintendent in July 2010. Jamie is only the fifth Superintendent in Rainbow's 74-year history.

Budget Committee

The Rainbow Budget Comittee consists of ten members, the five elected members of the Board of Commissioners, plus five additional members appointed to three-year terms. The Board of Commissioners also appoints a Budget Officer each year.
